Carolyn Jenison
Executive Director

Carolyn has over fifteen years working with both national and international markets to negotiate strategic relationships between software design firms within a niche market.  As this design firm grew to over 5 million dollars, she became the first stockholder and member of the board, outside of the initial directors.  During this time she was appointed as an advisor to the national association and held speaking engagements across the country.

In 2001, she retired from the technology industry and spent the next two years dedicated to volunteer work for organizations ranging from working with city leaders for enterprise neighborhood communities, Blank Children’s Hospital, Gay Men’s Chorus to the AIDS Project of Central Iowa, where she served on the Board of Directors for six years.  She has also served on the board of Lambda Beta Nu, and The Women’s Chamber Alliance.

Other professional associations have been Chapter President for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. And freelance publicist and consultant for the Civic Center of Greater Des Moines.

Carolyn serves on the board of the Institute for Social and Economic Development and works closely with city leaders in Des Moines.

She lives with her partner Angela Thorne of 10 years where together they continue restoration of a 110 year old home.
