Matthew Skuya

As an Iowa State University student, Matthew spent several years with the ISU LGBTA Alliance in campus organizing, education, and outreach while working towards two degrees in Political Science and International Studies. After graduation he interned with the Human Rights Campaign in Washington, DC working on among other things a successful 2005 March Lobby Event matching constituents from across the country with their Congressional Representatives and Senators.

Upon returning to Iowa Matthew continued his political work with the Iowa Democratic Party during the 2006 election cycle. Responsible for executing a county-wide "Get Out the Vote" strategy, he successfully led a grassroots campaign to sweeping victories in the November elections.

Originally from Sioux City, Matthew attended school in Ames and currently resides in West Des Moines.
