Together, we have accomplished much over the past few weeks. In the aftermath of the historic Supreme Court ruling, our community and allies have shown remarkable strength. Together, we defeated multiple legislative attempts to undermine the ruling, funded a groundbreaking TV ad in Iowa, and put in place a statewide presence to show support for couples on their special day! As we form our longer term strategy to defend equality in Iowa, we need you to stay engaged. The real test for our community comes now.

While gay and lesbian couples have been planning their celebrations, the extreme right has been plotting to take the freedom to marry away in Iowa. On the same day that gay and lesbian couples began to marry, 17,000 signatures were delivered asking County Recorders to disobey the law! We need your help between now and the next legislative session to help us build this support. Between now and January we will be returning to our regular e-mail schedule. We hope that during this time you will stay engaged. They will stop at nothing.
