New volunteer rewarded by work
New One Iowa volunteer Jason Taylor didn't feel accepted in his small Iowa hometown. But once he started canvassing that feeling changed.
"After seeing the supporters in my community, it gave me strength and a sense of acceptance I never felt before I started volunteering," Jason said.
Volunteering is important to Jason because otherwise important issues wouldn't get the public attention they deserve. Public awareness of marriage equality is especially important to Jason.
"Removing rights from anyone is to remove their ability to be fully happy," said Jason. "So regardless if someone is straight, gay or lesbian, they deserve the same happiness marriage brings to people in love."
Regional Field Organizer Joe Nydle is especially appreciative of committed, passionate volunteers like Jason.
"Jason is new to volunteering, but his effort and enthusiasm is refreshing," said Joe. "He understands the urgency and importance of his work and also knows how to have fun while doing it. I'm glad to have him with us."
