'Gallery Night' exhibit benefits One Iowa

Artist and longtime Iowa resident Jamie Bowers will have a show Friday, April 9, as part of Valley Junction's "Gallery Night".

Jamie created a special piece included in the show based on One Iowa's Blue Dot logo, and he plans to donate the proceeds from the piece's sale to One Iowa.

Jamie lived in Des Moines for 18 years working as a prosecutor before moving to Sioux City where he and his wife Becky own Bowers Art – Studio & Gallery.

Jamie started painting in 2001, and has been doing art exclusively for four years. The Bowers were introduced to One Iowa through a house party in Sioux City, and were looking for a way to show their continued support for marriage equality.

The show will be held at 234 5th Street in Valley Junction from 5-9 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday. Take a look at Jamie's art on his website.
