Tell Us Your Story
You have a story to tell.
Is it about realizing your hopes and dreams by getting married? Is it about allowing people the freedom to get married? Is it about wanting to be treated fairly? Why do you support the freedom to marry?
Your personal story is the most convincing tool we have to affect the hearts and minds of Iowans. Gay or straight, married or single, parent or student, Democrat or Republican – your story will make a difference!
Telling your story is easy! Just email Communications Director Molly Tafoya or call 515.288.4019 x207 to reach her by phone.
Here are a few questions you can use to get your story going:
- Tell us about your family, where you live and work, organizations or faith communities you are involved with, your children or parents or siblings
- Tell us about coming out and living openly as LGBT in Iowa or about knowing someone – a friend, child, parent, or sibling – who is LGBT
- Tell us about ups-and-downs of life – the joy of raising a child, the loss or illness of a partner, meeting or falling in love with your partner, the need to protect your child or family from harm, etc.
- In what ways would marriage equality impact your family or relationship? Why do all families deserve to be treated fairly?
Thanks for sharing your story--together, we will make a difference!
